The third edition of the Business and Climate Summit was held in New Delhi, India on August 31 – September 01, 2017. The event saw the presence of eminent corporate leaders sharing their thoughts and messages on the various services and solutions they can offer to achieve the objectives of the Paris agreement to create a zero net carbon economy.
Guillaume Dourdin, Country Director, Veolia (India) addressed a session on “Creating a Market for Wastewater, Solid Waste and Sanitation” during the summit. The session mainly focused on promoting a circular economy based on the 3Rs (Reuse, Reduce and Recycle) principle and also brainstorming on the various business and financial models that need to be encouraged for create a market for the end products. Along with Mr. Dourdin, the session was also addressed by Mr. Mahesh Babu, MD, IL&FS Environmental Services Ltd, Mr. Sanjiv Lal, COO, Tata Chemicals, Mr. Philippe Serres, Regional Manager, South Asia – PROPARCO and Mr. Samir Kumar, Economic Advisor, Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation.
